East Ridge Extreme Cheer Challenge
November 9th, 2024
What teams are being filled at the April 2024 cheerleading tryouts?
The cheerleading tryouts for the 2024-2025 season being held in April/May will be for Varsity Comp, JV Comp, Game Day Comp, JH and JH Game Day.
Who is eligible to tryout?
Students currently enrolled in grades 4th-11th (will be in 5th-12th during the 2024-25 school year)
What will you do at the clinics/tryouts?
Learn a dance, a cheer, and proper jump technique.
Practice any tumbling skills the participant would like to highlight at try outs. All tumbling skills must be mastered without a spot, there will be no spotting at any clinics or tryouts.
Where are the clinics and tryouts held?
Clinics and tryouts are all held at East Ridge High School, most likely in the gym or cafeteria.
Do I need cheer/dance/tumbling/gymnastics experience to tryout? Will I make a team if I don't have tumbling?
You do not need experience to tryout for cheerleading. We offer different teams at various skill levels. There truly is a team for everyone. You do not need tumbling to be a cheerleader.
What is the best way to prepare for tryouts?
Come to an open gym! It is the best way to show the coaches you are excited about cheer and willing to work for your skills.
The East Ridge Cheer Booster Club (ERCBC) is a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the East Ridge High School Cheer program. The Cheer Booster Club was established to provide both financial and volunteer support from our community and parent participation to support our program. This support is essential to supplement the budget provided by the school district. We achieve this through a combination of local sponsors, parent donations and organizing specific fundraising activities and events, including our annual ERHS Extreme Cheer Challenge competition. We feel strongly that parent involvement during the course of their cheerleader’s season can be a key to the success of the individual student athlete.
The club's 501(c)3 status suggests that it has been granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a charitable organization. This means that donations made to the club may be tax-deductible for donors.
The support provided by the East Ridge Cheer Booster Club can include financial contributions to cover various expenses associated with the cheer program, such as equipment, uniforms, travel to Orlando, FL for Nationals, and other operational costs.
The Cheer Booster Club is committed to fostering a positive atmosphere and interaction between the cheer student-athletes, coaches, and parents. Along with providing financial support for ERHS Cheer, we are dedicated to promoting participation in high school sports and encouraging good sportsmanship, positive attitudes, work ethic, discipline, confidence, and school pride.
We appreciate your feedback on our athletic programs. Please make an effort to complete this survey with your son/daughter while discussing the different topics addressed. By the nature of this website, these surveys are anonymous. The results of these surveys are shared with coaches in a summative format during their post-season meeting. These surveys are not used to determine the renewal of a coach's contract, they are used as a means of identifying strengths and areas for growth. If you have any pressing concerns regarding an East Ridge High School athletic program please email the activities department at jolson11@apps.district833.org
